Stationery Shop

Learners are able to purchase stationery for all their needs – even specialist items such as art materials, tech supplies etc – from the Stationery Shop. The shop also offers a wide selection of cold snacks and drinks.

IT

IT services are monitored at all times and any violation of terms of use can lead to IT access being limited or revoked (no access).

The IT Drop-in area (outside tech room) provides computers available for groups and learner drop-in.

Eileen’s Reading Corner

An area where you can relax and read a book, magazine or newspaper. Books can be borrowed for free. If you have a particular book you would like to get, talk to a member of staff.

Breakout Room/Student Kitchen

The Breakout Room (Banksy Break Room) are there for learners to prepare breakfast, refreshments at break times, to make drinks and prepare lunch. It is for learners to use and it is their responsibility to maintain it, keeping it clean. Clean up after use. This area is supervised by a member of staff.

NUS Extra Card

When you become a learner at HORIZON you can join the NUS (National Union of Students) and apply for an NUS Extra Card. This will cost you £12 for 12 months and you will benefit from loads of discounts, from driving lessons to haircuts, theme parks to clothes.  Get further details and get your card at https://www.totum.com .

Become a Learner Voice Ambassador

Each group will have Learner Voice Ambassadors, who will represent the views of other learners in their subject area.

Smoking Area

Smoking is strictly prohibited in any part of the building and grounds. Smoking is confined to the smoking shelter and all dog ends are to be put in the butt bin.
