Horizon Community Task Force

As part of the students work experience, we volunteer to help worthwhile causes within the local community.

Our learners use the skills they acquired with us to undertake community projects under our tutors’ supervision. This takes their learning and turns it into something meaningful and productive, contributing to the well-being of our entire community.

The type of work we undertake includes:

Improving community areas by landscaping, making repairs and maintenance, painting and decorating
Helping to with raising funds by volunteering for community projects
Organising events selling items and promoting good causes

All of the organisations we help are those that usually need just that little bit more help to see their projects through. That can be schools, community centres, local spaces or care farms.

We also help our learners to find employment. Working with local businesses, we arrange placements where they can experience working in various industries or trades.
