HORIZON Learner’s Handbook

Safeguarding and Wellbeing Mentors

Your Safeguarding and Wellbeing Mentors are there to support you with many issues. If you are a learner at HORIZON and you have a concern regarding safeguarding or feel vulnerable for any reason, then you should talk to your personal tutor or contact one of our Safeguarding and Wellbeing Mentors. All the details you need in order to contact someone are in section 6. Your Mentor’s main focus is your safeguarding and wellbeing but can also help with a range of topics including:

  • Course information, applications and enrolment
  • Job seeking techniques, applications and CVs
  • Progression options and careers advice
  • Referrals to other agencies, training and education providers
  • Transport information

Mentors offer free and impartial advice to enable individuals to make well informed choices about their future plans. Advisors work with current learners, and those considering starting a course at HORIZON. If you have any queries prior to starting a course, please contact us.
