Designed for those who have an identified learning or social difficulty (in receipt of an EHCP).
These learners find mainstream education particularly challenging and as a result have been home schooled or may have accessed an alternative provision in the past. Learners in this situation often require and benefit from a smaller, quieter and altogether more calming environment in order to achieve their full potential.
Age group: 16-24
Course Description:
Include aims to develop confidence and foster a positive attitude towards learning in order to enable the learner to progress to Further Education, Apprenticeship or Employment. A core objective is building the learner’s confidence in social environments. This is key to enabling them to participate, contribute and benefit from the full range of social interactions. As with all our activities, Include targets the development of a learner’s emotional intelligence, thereby enabling them to effectively communicate their feelings and to be responsive and understanding of others. As part of the confidence building we help learners develop effective coping strategies for situations that not only cause them anxiety but have been instrumental in causing them to withdraw from social interactions in the past.
